Healing Through Arts

Empowering Recovery:

Transforming Lives Through Creative Arts Initiatives

The inspiring stories of founders, Susan and Andy Binau, form the core of our foundation. Both have found solace in writing, and music during times of serious illness and loss. Learn about our mission and history.

Integrating arts in our programs and tools, serves as a bridge to teach grieving children, professionals, and adults on the universal language of grief, to foster hope, healing and effective communication.

This initiative aims to combat loneliness, feelings of isolation, and the challenges often faced by grieving children and teenagers.

A recent study in the journal of Psychology, and Art Therapy reviled that engaging in creative activities, such as listening to music. writing in a diary, painting or playing an instrument, specifically aids the healing process for those experiencing grief.

The study found that individuals who participated in artistic expressions reported lower level of emotional distress and increased feelings of hope and wellbeing compared to those who did not engage in such activities.

Empowering Grieving Children
Innovating Recovery Solutions

Imagine a world where a grieving child don't feel alone, but can express their emotions and cope healthily with loss. Instead of isolation, they are surrounded by family, friends, teachers and other significant figures,  who understands the universal language of grief. Our innovative approach to education, social awareness ,and tools aims to bring about significant and positive change. With a dedicated core team, a strong story, and the necessary knowledge,, we seek significant funding to achieve our goal. Our vision is to unite partners who share our values, aiming to enhance mental healthcare for children and teenagers.

Magic in Three Phases:

Grief Heroes Family Portal

In the first phase, we aim to create the Grief Heroes Family Portal, a platform featuring workbooks in interactive and digital form and educational videos to aid parents and adults in supporting grieving children. This portal provides nationwide access to essential grief tools and resources, bridging the gap of distance and enabling online support for families. The platform allows family and compassionate friends to  interact with children online in a safe space, fostering a collaborative approach for healing.

The second phase, involves developing a musical based on the super hero from our workbooks. We have laid the groundwork for this unique musical play, with the music, storyline and team in place to bring this uplifting program to live. Our collaboration with a venues like Dr. Philips Center for Arts, will enable us to launch the musical in 2025, targeting elementary students and teachers in central florida. The story of Super Dog Zam, written by a nine year old boy, imparts life skills in a fun and engaging manner, settling the stage for future book adaptions across states.

Lastly, as the Grief Heroes Family portal is tested, we plan to leverage it's features to develop the Grief Heroes School portal for elementary students, with future expansions to more target groups. Collaborating with teachers and school professionals though training programs, we aim to utilize the platform effectively and establish partnerships with school and organizations nationwide
